Joint activities with other ICID work bodies:

Drainage and Wetlands.  Since Dr. Madramootoo, past chairman WG-ENV, could not attend, his synthesis report of the Symposium held in Bali will be posted on the ICID website.  No report was received from the Working Group on Environmental Impacts of Irrigation, Drainage and Flood Control Projects (WG-ENV).  It was decided that Dr. Vlotman and Dr. (Mrs.) Guritno Indreswari (Indonesia), new Chairperson, WG-ENV will coordinate further activities.

Asian Drainage Programme for the Humid Tropics (ADPHT)

Mr. Mohd Azhari bin Ghazalli, Director appraised the working group of the status of ADPHT in Seoul, Korea (Sep 2001).  ADPHT has now been officially established and is hosted by the Malaysian Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID).  A newsletter was presented which is available at the web site: http://agrolink.moa.my/did/mancid/adpht.
